For eleven years I have been fortunate enough to be immersed in the exciting field of education. I have not only had the wonderful experience of working with children from kindergarten through eighth grade but have also had the privilege of working with their teachers and parents in supporting their educational journey. I earned my Bachelors in Special Education from Purdue University and my Masters Degree in Special Education from East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. I hold an Administrator license, as well as a Principal license from the state of Colorado. I started my teaching career in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. After moving to Colorado almost five years ago, I taught in Poudre School District and most recently the Thompson School District in Loveland at New Vision Charter School. Throughout my career I have had many opportunities to work at the school and district level on projects involving professional development, curriculum, various special and general education initiatives, and mentoring teachers. Before beginning my teaching career I worked as a mental health caseworker for Easter Seals.
On a personal note I have been married for eight wonderful years to my best friend, John. We live in Loveland with our cat and dog. I love the outdoors which is what brought my husband and me to Colorado. I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, rafting, camping...if it's outdoors, chances are I enjoy it.
Twin Peaks is such an amazing organization with a strong community spirit and phenomenal student body made up of a diverse population of learners and cultures. The teaching and administrative staff, as well as the board of directors is unparalleled in their dedication and commitment to this organization and its members. I am very proud and honored to be chosen to be a part of Twin Peaks Charter Academy.
